Frequently asked questions
How do I paste an image in?
Copy any image, for example a screenshot or an image from a web page, then press Ctrl+V on Windows or Cmd+V on a Mac while this page is open. The pasted image appears ready to download or copy.
What if I do not have anything copied?
You can also drag and drop an image file onto the drop zone, or click to browse for one. Either way the image is processed the same, entirely inside your browser.
What does the copy to clipboard button do?
It writes the image back to your system clipboard as a PNG, so you can paste it straight into another app. It only appears when your browser supports the clipboard write feature.
Why can I only copy as PNG but download as other formats?
Browsers reliably accept only PNG when writing images to the clipboard, so the copy action always uses PNG. Downloads have no such limit, so you can save as PNG, JPG or WebP with a quality slider.
Is my pasted image sent to a server?
No. The image is read from your clipboard and converted locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so your screenshots and images stay completely private.
