Frequently asked questions
Why convert a PNG to JPG?
JPG files are usually much smaller than PNGs for photographs, which makes them faster to upload, email and load on web pages. Converting is a good choice whenever you do not need transparency and want to save space.
What happens to transparent areas?
JPG does not support transparency, so any transparent pixels are filled with the background colour you pick (white by default). You can choose any colour to match your design before converting.
Can I convert several PNG files at once?
Yes. Drop as many PNG files as you like, convert them in one batch, then download each JPG individually or grab them all together as a ZIP archive.
Does the quality slider affect the result?
Yes. A higher quality keeps more detail but produces a larger file; a lower quality saves space with some loss. Around 80-90% is a good balance for most photos.
